“We will present a government program in the coming hours,” promises the MEP La France insoumise (LFI) Manon Aubry, Tuesday June 11 on franceinfo. After several hours of negotiations, Monday evening, LFI, the Socialist Party (PS), the Ecologists and the French Communist Party (PCF) called for “the constitution of a new popular front” and to “unique applications from the first round” early legislative elections. This program “will notably deal with the first 100 days in the face of social, democratic and ecological emergencies”, specifies Manon Aubry.

“When it comes to taxing super profits, increasing the minimum wage, investing in renewable energies, tackling the challenges of our time head-on, whether it be the social emergency, the ecological emergency , but also the democratic issues demonstrated by the political crisis we are currently experiencing, it is clear that what unites us is a thousand times stronger than what divides us.”underlines the head of the LFI list in the European elections last Sunday.

“We don’t start from nowhere”, recalls Manon Aubry. “We have had 151 deputies elected to the National Assembly for two years, who work together, who campaigned two years ago on a common program which is that of Nupes”, the New Popular, Ecological and Social Union, she points out. The Nupes imploded in the fall, but the dissolution of the National Assembly, decided by Emmanuel Macron, led LFI, the PS, the Ecologists and the PCF to return to the negotiating table.

“We will create the momentum that the country needs to resist the far right”enthuses the rebellious elected official, two days after the historic score of the National Rally for Europeans. “Emmanuel Macron hoped to divide us, he brought us together. Our objective is clear, it is to win on June 30 and July 7 [dates du premier et du second tour des législatives] and to prevent the extreme right from coming to power”, she says.

Manon Aubry says she is confident in the ability of LFI, the PS, the Ecologists and the PCF to overcome their disagreements. “On the Israeli-Palestinian subject, I think we can all agree on the recognition of the State of Palestine, an embargo on the sending of weapons to Israel, the suspension of the agreement “association between the European Union and Israel These are very concrete things which should appear, without revealing any scoop, in our government project.”she says.
