Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will travel to San Francisco, California for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders’ Meeting. Alongside him, the Canadian delegation will include the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mélanie Joly, and the Minister of International Trade, Mary Ng.
The meeting, which is being held from November 15 to 17, aims, among other things, to remove barriers to trade between countries on both sides of the Pacific. Also in attendance will be the presidents of the United States and China, Joe Biden and Xi Jinping. The two leaders will meet in person today. The White House has indicated that it wants to “responsibly manage the rivalry” between Washington and Beijing.
