Led by the United Nations Environment Program, World Environment Day has been observed on June 5 every year since 1973 and is celebrated by millions of people around the world. UN Secretary-General António Guterres is due to deliver a special address today in New York on “the harsh reality of the state of the climate and the colossal risk facing world leaders today.”
