As of today, people registered part-time in French language courses will no longer receive the financial incentive of $28 per day. On September 13, The Duty had learned that the new Minister of Immigration, Francisation and Integration, Jean-François Roberge, had decided to abolish the incentive which he considered to be an “expense” and to use this money to “bring about francization”.
For companies with more than 100 salaried workers, today marks the end of salary compensation for francization in the workplace. This allowance will now be reserved for companies with fewer than 100 salaried workers.
