Pierre Ny St-Amand, the bus driver who hit the Sainte-Rose daycare center in Laval on February 8, is back this morning at 9:30 a.m. at the Laval courthouse. He is accused of killing two four-year-old children and injuring six other toddlers.
At the end of April, a 22-page psychiatric assessment, sealed by the courts, was filed by the Philippe-Pinel Institute, the psychiatric establishment where Mr. Ny St-Amand is detained. His lawyers and the Crown had requested the postponement of the case to June 13, the time to read this document which aims to identify the criminal responsibility of the accused.
Pierre Ny St-Amand faces two counts of first degree murder as well as seven other counts, including attempted murder and aggravated assault.
