In California, the progress of a major forest fire, described as “explosive” by the authorities, will be monitored today. The brazier, baptized Oak Fireapproached the mythical national park of Yosemite, populated by giant sequoias.
The fire has swallowed some 6,800 hectares of vegetation since Friday, and more than 2,500 firefighters were hard at work to control it. The very hot weather that should persist Tuesday in the region does not help the situation.
