A visit by Volodymyr Zelensky to the Eastern Front
“I am grateful to everyone who helps Ukraine” greeted the Ukrainian president after announcing he had visited the Eastern Front. More specifically, Volodymyr Zelensky visited the localities of Kupiansk and Lyman, located in the Karkiv region, targeted by a sustained offensive by Russian troops. “Kharkiv remains proud, free and strong” claimed Volodymyr Zelensky.
“Today we visit our brigades fighting in one of the hottest zones, Kupiansk and Lyman”, also wrote Volodymyr Zelensky on Telegram. He also posted a video alongside soldiers in what appears to be a fortified shelter.
Kherson region hit again
“Two guided aerial bombs were dropped on Olhivka and Odradokamianka” lamented Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson administrative region, in a Telegram post also relayed by The world. Oleksandr Prokudin also lists “four more” strikes on the town of Mykolaivka.
“Information concerning the destruction and the victims [sont] being verified” said this head of the Kherson oblast. Oleksandr Prokudin had reported, earlier in the day, several bombings in the village of Antonivka. One person died and seven were injured.
Ukraine woke up after a series of night attacks
The Ukrainian Air Force reported Tuesday that it had shot down 29 drones and a missile launched by Russia in the south and east of the country. Air defense specifies that these were 29 Iranian-made Shahed 131/136 drones and an Iskander-K cruise missile.
In total, Russia launched 31 drones and one missile from Crimea, the Ukrainian peninsula annexed by Moscow in 2014.
