800,000 shells delivered to Ukraine within “a few weeks”, announces the Czech president
Czech President Petr Pavel announced that Ukraine could receive by “a few weeks” the 800,000 artillery shells purchased from third countries as part of its initiative financed by a coalition of 18 countries.
“We raised the full amount to buy the whole thing” ammunition, Petr Pavel told the press on Thursday, without specifying the amount. “If there are no fundamental problems, the ammunition could be delivered to Ukraine in a few weeks”he added.

The Russian security services (FSB) announced that they had killed a Belarusian national accused of planning an attack on an administrative building in Russia, for the benefit of Ukraine. Born in 1974, the suspect, accused of having been recruited by the Ukrainian special services, was a member of a nationalist regiment of Belarusian volunteers who fought alongside Kiev forces, according to an FSB press release.
He was preparing to detonate a homemade device in an administrative building in the town of Olonets, in the Russian region of Karelia (north), the statement said. “During his arrest, the assailant opened fire on the special services agents and was eliminated in this confrontation”according to the same source. “A homemade machine ready to be used”as well as a pistol and ammunition were seized at the scene, the press release added.
