Many political figures highlighted the legacy of Ed Broadbent during the state funeral in memory of the former NDP leader on Sunday afternoon in Ottawa. “Canada is better because of its service, in politics and outside of politics,” said Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
During the ceremony, current NDP leader Jagmeet Singh struggled to hold back tears as he recounted how Mr. Broadbent served as a mentor to him in his early days as NDP leader.
