This is the first time that a political or military figure has resigned since the unprecedented attack of October 7. Israeli military intelligence chief resigns

General Aharon Haliva resigned assuming his “responsibility” in the bloody Hamas attack, at the origin of the war between Israel and Palestinian Hamas in the Gaza Strip, the army announced Monday. “The intelligence service under my command did not fulfill the mission entrusted to us”he explains in a letter published by the Israeli army.

“I have carried this dark day with me ever since. Day after day, night after night. I will carry this terrible pain forever“, he then wrote. This is the first Israeli official – political or military – to resign since the death of 1,170 people, the majority civilians, in the attacks perpetrated by Hamas.

Around fifty bodies discovered in Khan Younes

At least 50 bodies were found buried in the courtyard of a hospital targeted by an Israeli army raid, Gaza civil defense said on Sunday. According to this source, some of the bodies found “were stripped of their clothes, which certainly indicates that they were arrested, tortured and subjected to ill-treatment by the occupying army”.

The DCivil Defense of the Gaza Strip then claimed, on Monday, to have exhumed over the last three days around 200 bodies of people killed and buried by Israeli forces. An official told AFP that several of the bodies found were decomposed, making the process of identifying victims more complex.

Emmanuel Macron wants to avoid a “conflagration”

The head of state once again called for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas on Monday, while the situation of civilians in Gaza is “unacceptable for too long”. During a telephone exchange with the Israeli Prime Minister, the French president mentioned “absolute emergency” has “guarantee a massive entry of humanitarian aid through all access points to the Gaza Strip”.

The Head of State reaffirmed to Benjamin Netanyahu “his firm opposition to an Israeli offensive on Rafah”, according to the Elysée. Hezbollah claims to have targeted Israeli military base

Lebanese Hezbollah announced Monday that it had targeted a military headquarters in northern Israel with “tens” Katyusha rockets, “in response” raids targeting villages in southern Lebanon. The Israeli military said around 35 shots were identified coming from Lebanon towards the Ein Zeitim area in northern Israel. No injuries were reported.
