On the 35th day of conflict between the Jewish state and the Palestinian terrorist organization, attention was once again focused on the strikes targeting Gazan hospitals. Emmanuel Macron called on Israel to stop its bombings.
After conceding “breaks” humanitarian efforts in Gaza, the Israeli army is in a hurry to go further. Emmanuel Macron has “urged Israel to stop” its bombings which kill civilians in the Palestinian territory, where hospitals were again hit by strikes on Friday November 11. “L“The health system in Gaza has reached the point of no return”, alerted the International Committee of the Red Cross. Here is what to remember from this new day of conflict.
New strikes on Gazan hospitals
Deadly bombings in the northern Gaza Strip have hit hospitals, Palestinian officials say. Hamas reported 13 deaths in an Israeli strike on the Al-Shifa hospital complex, the largest in the Palestinian territory. The director of the establishment, Mohammed Abou Salmiya, affirmed that “all hospitals in Gaza City were targeted” Friday by Israeli forces.
The army has not commented on the accusations. While Israeli troops on the ground are supported by artillery, she said on Thursday that she was targeting, near Al-Shifa hospital, a “military center” of Hamas. “It would be easier if Hamas left the hospitals and showed us clearly”, called an army spokesperson. The soldiers “twill ” Hamas fighters “who shoot from hospitals” in Gaza, he assumed, while admitting the “sensitive character” such operations. The Palestinian Red Crescent reported that Israeli snipers fired on Al-Quds hospital on Friday, leaving at least one dead.
WHO and ICRC warn about health system in Gaza
The health system in the Gaza Strip is “on your knees”estimated the head of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, before the UN Security Council. Half of the enclave’s 36 hospitals are not functioning “not at all”he underlined, evoking “more than 250 attacks” on health facilities in Gaza and the West Bank since the start of the war. “The situation on the ground is impossible to describe: hospital corridors piled up with wounded, sick and dying people, overflowing morgues, surgeries without anesthesia, tens of thousands of people taking refuge in hospitals”he reported.
“The destruction of hospitals in Gaza is becoming unbearable and must stop”argued the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). “Overwhelmed, short of supplies and increasingly dangerous, the health system in Gaza has reached the point of no return, endangering the lives of thousands of injured, sick and displaced people”he insisted, evoking scenes “horrible” observed by its teams.
Emmanuel Macron “urges Israel to stop” its bombings
The French president has “urged Israel to stop” bombings killing civilians in Gaza. “We share (Israel’s) pain. And we share their desire to get rid of terrorism”, he declared, in an interview with the BBC. But there is no “no justification” to the bombings killing civilians in Gaza, he added, mentioning the “babies, women and the elderly” affected. Asked about a possible violation of international law by Israel, Emmanuel Macron stressed that he was not “not a judge”but “a head of state”.
The day after the Paris Peace Forum, the Head of State maintained that all the governments and agencies present at the summit had reached the “clear conclusion that there is no other solution than a humanitarian pause first, towards a ceasefire, which will protect all civilians who have nothing to do with the terrorists”. He said “hope” that other Western leaders, notably in the United States and the United Kingdom, will join his call for a ceasefire.
Israeli death toll revised downwards
Israel has revised its toll from the October 7 attack, which so far stands at 1,400 victims among the population of the Jewish state. “Hamas terrorists murdered around 1,200 people in cold blood and kidnapped 240, including babies, children, women and the elderly”, listed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Initially, the Israeli authorities explained that they had “update” their balance sheet by now estimating that “many bodies that had not been identified” are those of people who participated in “Hamas terrorist attack, not Israeli victims”. They then modified their version, contenting themselves with evoking a “updated estimate” of the number of victims, without further details.
For its part, the Hamas Ministry of Health announced that 11,078 people, including 4,506 children, had been killed in Israeli bombardments on the Gaza Strip since the start of the war. These assessments cannot be independently verified at this stage.
Israel evokes “several regional fronts”
“We are focused on Hamas, but we are dealing with terrorist groups throughout the Middle East”declared the Israeli army, referring to “several fronts”. THURSDAY, “we had to operate in Lebanon, Syria, Judea and Samaria [Cisjordanie]in Gaza and in the Red Sea area”, she listed. In response “to the infiltration of three drones on our territory”Israel said it carried out “large-scale strikes” towards Lebanese Hezbollah targets.

On the shores of the Red Sea, a drone fell on a school in the seaside resort of Eilat on Thursday, without causing any injuries. In response, the Israeli army assured that it had “hit the organization that carried out the attack” from Syria. The Hebrew State also spoke of a projectile coming “probably from Yemen”, intercepted by its anti-missile system. Finally, rockets continue to be fired daily from the Gaza Strip towards Israel, where sirens sounded on Friday in Tel Aviv. Two women were injured by shrapnel, according to emergency services.
