Later, Bérénice pays a visit to her sister to discuss their father’s medical condition. Constance reveals that he had been diagnosed with terminal cancer, a fact he concealed from both Bérénice and their mother. He had asked Constance to keep this information confidential.

Now reconciled, Bérénice expresses her anger towards their father, wishing she had known before her vacation with their mother that it would be their last time together. She longs to say a proper goodbye.
