In an effort to give Zoé and Gary some personal space at the boarding school, Solal opted to spend the night at the Lanneau household. The next morning, Lionel discovers him asleep on the couch. Inès points out that breakfast is lacking, although Stéphane has gone out to pick up some pastries.
At the boarding school, Zoé and Gary awaken together after sharing an intimate night for the first time. Zoé inquires about Gary’s feelings, and he expresses that it was a positive experience, but they still need to navigate their relationship. Zoé proposes to meet later that evening for further exploration, and Gary reluctantly agrees despite the tension in the air.
Meanwhile, Stéphane returns with pastries and finds Lionel in the kitchen, who remains distant. Stéphane vows to make amends and not abandon his children again. Lionel retorts that he wouldn’t have returned if it weren’t for Gary’s efforts. Stéphane clarifies that it was actually Solal who contacted him, suspecting that Solal’s actions stem from his feelings for Zoé.
Fueled by anger, Lionel heads to the Institute to confront Solal about his interference. Upon receiving his response, Lionel asserts that Solal should stay out of his affairs and leave Zoé and Gary alone. Solal reassures Lionel that he has no intention of revealing anything that could create turmoil.
In the park, Clotilde receives a cheeky message from Teyssier regarding New Year’s Eve. She had previously challenged him to organize the most entertaining party of the year and now regrets making that bet. To ease her stress, Joachim suggests she enlist the help of a student. Clotilde then approaches Zoé, commending her on her Christmas menu and inviting her to assist with the New Year’s celebration.
Later, Zoé excitedly shares this news with Gary in the park. However, she mentions that she has asked Chef Armand for some time to consider the offer, as she worries about her capabilities. Learning that the chef has scheduled a meeting with her that evening to discuss menu ideas, Gary encourages Zoé to embrace the opportunity.
Later on, Solal pays a visit to Gary at the boarding school. Gary confesses that his intimacy with Zoé felt somewhat forced and begins to question his true feelings for her…
Antoine Misunderstands Angèle’s Gestures
Returning from vacation, Billie spots Enzo and Vic at the Institute. She plans a romantic Christmas evening with Tom and has purchased a lovely scarf for him. However, while attempting to showcase the gift, she accidentally tears the wrapping. Enzo suggests she grab some tape from Myriel’s office to fix it.
Shortly after, Antoine finds the scarf on his desk and mistakenly believes it is intended for him. The lack of a signed note leads him to think he has an anonymous admirer.
While assisting Angèle with her delivery to the Economat, she compliments his scarf, leaving Antoine thrilled. He is convinced she is the one behind the surprise gift.
As the day wraps up, Tom meets Billie in the park for their romantic date, planning to take her out to dinner followed by a hotel stay. As Billie rummages through her bag for the gift, she realizes she left it in Myriel’s office. Tom then spots the deputy director wearing the scarf a short distance away.
Coline and Malo’s Special Connection
Alice is present with Gaspard, who is waiting for his brother, Malo, to return home from school. Malo arrives at the Institute and expresses his desire to bid farewell to Coline.

Afterward, Coline walks Malo and Gaspard back. Just as they prepare to part ways, Malo becomes upset, voicing his reluctance to return to school where he faces ridicule. Coline helps him calm down by sharing her own experiences with sizeism and advises him to create a mental “noise-canceling bubble” to navigate difficult times. Gaspard admires Coline’s calming influence on his younger brother. After a heartfelt hug, Coline bids farewell to Malo, deeply touched by the moment.
