A new drug is emerging in the fight against Covid-19. It is Paxlovid, a stamp from the Pfizer group which has already received the green light from the health authorities. It can be administered in the coming days according to a very supervised follow-up. The journalist Marina Carrère d’Encausse gives us the details of this new treatment.
This is the new anti-Covid stamp. Specifically, Paxlovid is used to reduce the multiplication of the virus in the body of an infected person. This treatment would reduce serious forms and deaths linked to Covid-19 by 89%.
This pill is mainly intended for people at risk: the elderly or the immunocompromised. The pharmacist must also check that he can dispense it“, specifies Marina Carrère d’Encausse, in particular because of certain incompatibilities.
