An energetic woman
She was a woman who did a titanic job, in my opinion, with incredible health and energy. I would never have been able to follow her and I did not envy a role imposed on her by her birth. She was already queen when I was born and I sometimes wondered if she was going to die after me. I have heard many hateful comments about her in Quebec. Since she never hurt me personally, I didn’t share those feelings. I was taught very early in life not to give in to this “toxic” facility. Same thing for his son Charles: it seems to me that he has proved enough that he was an honest and valiant man even if he made mistakes – who doesn’t? – and I hope it will be respected for what it is worth. Above all, we must not lose sight of the fact that the disappearance of Elizabeth II is also a family that loses one of its members even if their relations have not always been harmonious.

Independent and indifferent
The death of Queen Elizabeth II saddens me, but having grown up in a family of separatists, it does not affect me. The monarchy has always turned its nose up at Quebec. For me, it’s just a grandmother who dies. And for the future king, Charles III, I don’t care… royally!

Honest and respectful
Our beautiful and dear queen represents for me a person of integrity, respect. A beautiful lady who has known how to evolve and adjust over the decades. A grandmother whose family is very important who was able to surround herself with those she loved. Discretion, professionalism, respect and concern for his people have always been at the heart of his daily life. Rest in peace, dear Queen Elizabeth II, you greatly deserve it. I will miss you.

A medieval institution
Queen Elizabeth II was an old lady devoted to her work and her family. But his job was to represent a medieval and colonialist institution. And plenty of respectable old ladies devoted to their work and their families die every year in silence and ignorance. In Quebec, thousands died abandoned and in indignity during the COVID-19 pandemic. So, you will understand that I prefer to greet all these modest ladies, from all over the world, rather than a billionaire representative of an oppressive system.

A woman like any other
Quite simply a woman like many others, who came into the world in wealth and a dream, who did not make much effort to ensure a clean future for our children, except perhaps to dream.

From misunderstanding to affection
My grandmother, an immigrant from Ukraine, loved him very much. I have souvenir pictures of the Queen hanging all over her apartment. I didn’t understand this attraction, but over the years I developed an affection for Queen Elizabeth II.
Nathalie Primak
antiquated monarchy
For me, it’s an opportunity to get rid of the monarchy which is, in my opinion, from another time.

Respect, despite everything
Even if I believe that the monarchy in Canada is obsolete, I cannot help but have a great deal of respect for this monarch who had an impeccable and smooth career for so many years.

Stability and dedication
For me, she embodied the stability of institutions and devotion to one’s function with a very “British” humorous touch. And for the royal suite, “God Save the King”.

A feminist
I never liked the monarchy as such. It’s expensive and unnecessary for us. But the queen? wow! This is the first model of feminism that I had. A straight woman, dedicated, solid, without excuses, with an intense character and who never allowed herself to be imposed! It is a page in our history that is turning. I have always admired this woman and I confess to being saddened by her death… I will miss her!

Elegance and nobility
For me, Queen Elizabeth II represented elegance, nobility of heart and nobility of gesture, tolerance, respect, perseverance in adversity, resilience, loyalty to one’s commitments.

An artifact from another era
She was certainly a great queen for England, in her longevity and respect for office. But to me, that doesn’t mean much. Moreover, I believe that we should do like other countries and get out of the monarchy, an artifact of another era.
