With the approach of the legislative elections, Emmanuel Macron is back on the ground on Saturday June 4. Having remained discreet since his re-election as head of the country, the head of state entered the arena as late as possible, as during the presidential election. In an interview granted to the regional press, he reveals himself a little without giving any clues on the merits. It offers some details on a new method. “If we detail the purchasing power measures before the legislative elections, the French will think that it is acquired. It is better to be vague to make them want to go to the polls”, confides a leader of the majority. A ministerial adviser explains that “it is an assumed strategy, the president is playing it safe”.
Be careful, temporize: a very clear strategy which was illustrated on Tuesday May 31 in the face of emergency workers. He spoke of an “emergency mission, if I can use this term, this flash mission to be able to provide very strong responses this summer to consolidate our emergencies in this period”. During this time, these opponents occupied the field. Jean-Luc Mélenchon succeeded in uniting the left. A minister judges “the fear of Mélenchon Prime Minister will mobilize our voters” while another calls for caution because “the left is mobilizing”. One week before the ballot, Emmanuel Macron does not want to give his opponents a hold, but controversies can arise at any time, like the incidents at the Stade de France.
