It is both a war on the ground and a war of propaganda. Every day the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense publishes its own report. “Today, if we take the example of fighter planes, 84 Russian planes have already been shot down, including 3 today“, relays the journalist Jean Chamoulaud. Figures very difficult to verify. For its part, the Russian Ministry of Defense also publishes its propaganda “and in particular these videos of the spoils of war” where we see Russian soldiers displaying captured weapons from the Ukrainian army.

To try to see more clearly between this war of numbers and propaganda, two Dutch researchers have created a site based on available information. On this one, they try to update daily the information on the loss of material between the two armies. On the ground, there would have been 1380 vehicles involved, including 598 already destroyed, 20 damaged, 211 abandoned and 551 captured. On the Ukrainian side, 362 vehicles were engaged, including 135 destroyed, 5 damaged, 48 abandoned and 174 captured. The human count is also laborious to establish.
