First, a nice nod to Stephane Sauron. Until this Sunday, March 27, he runs the bar “Le Charcot” in Sainte-Foy-lès-Lyon. From Liège, grandson of a miner, he is an asserted and displayed supporter of the Greens. Regularly dressed in green, especially for the Derbys, he has a surprise in store for his customers on his last day.
Listen to his testimony in 100% Verts.
The Socio Vert project: what is it?
In November 2021, in view of the situation at ASSE, a small group of supporters decided to take action and dive into a long-term adventure, which was surely strewn with pitfalls. A “socios” project is born: Social Greens. The “socios” movements are developing all over Europe: the supporters become actors in the organization of the club and can become “the bosses” (eg at Barça, the socios elect the president). In France, two clubs got into it: SC Bastia and En Avant Guingamp with different philosophies.
For ASSE, the project of the Socios Verts is to become a minority shareholder of the club, to propose and support associative projects and to establish a direct link between supporters and club. For this purpose, they must be credible: former players as “heads of gondola”, a solid legal structure and, above all, the minimum funds necessary. They would need at least two million euros to hope to be taken seriously. Currently, they are around 200,000 euros in donations.
How it works? What ambition? What is the genesis of the project? President Thierry Simonnet explains everything to you in this 100% Greens.
