Four men were arrested and brought under guard to the Moscow court. They are suspected of having contributed to the terrorist attack perpetrated on Friday March 22 in a concert hall.
Handcuffed, blindfolded and under guard, one of the suspects in the Moscow terrorist attack arrives in court on Monday March 25. Brought one by one into the dock, the alleged attackers appear with blood on their faces. One of them, lying on a wheelchair, appears with his eyes closed. The four men are presented by Moscow as foreign citizens. According to Russian media, they are from Tajikistan, a former Soviet republic in Central Asia with a Muslim majority.
Vladimir Putin blames Ukraine
The attack was claimed by the Islamic State group, but Kremlin propaganda accuses Ukraine of being responsible. “In the media, this was quickly drowned out by the truth wanted by Vladimir Putin, namely that it is Ukraine which is complicit in this attack”explains Olivier Vedrine, editor-in-chief of the Russian opposition newspaper Russian Monitor. An official version which seems to convince part of Russian opinion. On the evening of Sunday March 24, the four alleged attackers were placed in pre-trial detention, awaiting their trial.
