Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne will present her purchasing power bill on Thursday, July 7. What are the main measures?

On the occasion of the Council of Ministers, Thursday, July 7, a vast bill on purchasing power will be unveiled. Among the measures presented by Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne, a food check of 100 euros will be mentioned, with 50 euros more per child. The aid should be paid from next September and would concern around 9 million households. Regarding housing, “the increase in rents will be capped, with a maximum increase of 3.5%”explains the journalist Baptiste Garguy-Charpier, on the set of 23h of franceinfo, this Thursday.

Several energy proposals are also on the table. The discount of 18 euro cents per liter of fuel, which runs until the end of August, could be extended. The gas tariff shield will also be extended. Finally, all retirement pensions and social minima will be increased by 4%. All these measures on purchasing power “should cost nearly 25 billion euros according to Bercy”says Baptiste Garguy-Charpier.
