What is the best olive oil and how to use it?

The consumption of olive oil in France is 120,000 tons per year!

There are three kinds of olive oil:

– Lampante olive oil has a very high acidity rate (over 3%) making it impossible to consume, it has a very unpleasant smell and taste. This oil is used as fuel in oil lamps, hence its name.

– Virgin olive oil has a maximum of 2% oleic acidity, making it pleasant to drink.

– And finally, extra virgin olive oil means that the olives have been cold pressed without undergoing any chemical treatment, just like virgin olive oil, except that its acidity is less than 0.8%! It is therefore this oil that must be favored for a tasty taste.

The benefits of olive oil

  • It protects the heart because it has monounsaturated fatty acids (it’s saturated fats that are bad) and it’s full of antioxidants.
  • Regular consumption of olive oil helps prevent cancers such as breast cancer, colorectal cancer or even digestive and respiratory cancers.
  • It is hydrating the skin.
  • It helps soothe chapped hands and skin irritations. For example, favor on the skin before waxing, it will avoid drying the skin, unlike soap.
  • It nourishes dry hair, about fifteen minutes before applying your shampoo.
  • It is an anti-wrinkle because it is rich in vitamin E and antioxidants! To be made as a mask with a mixture of honey for example, or as a night care by mixing it only with rose floral water. It also exists directly in the form of a face cream, for example L’Olivier de Léos, Made in Provence, made with extra virgin olive oil and olive leaves, €49.
  • An anti-acne, because it purifies! You can apply it directly to your pimples.
