Becoming an owner in two clicks is now possible in France. For several weeks, the online sales platform Amazon has been offering houses that can be delivered within three weeks. Some cost less than 20,000 euros. Made of plastic, they are made in China. However, they are not equipped, so they must be brought up to standard, an additional cost to which is added that of acquiring the land.
Not as reliable as a solid house
Furthermore, the reliability of this house is not comparable to a solid construction, according to Henry Buzy-Cazaux, president of the Institute of Real Estate Services Management. “We cannot equate these houses with sustainable solutions, with the same degree of comfort, safety, environmental performance”, he assures. Faced with the increase in construction prices, the demand for this type of inexpensive product is increasingly strong. Between modular, kit, container or wooden houses, there is something for everyone. In France, prefabricated houses represent less than 10% of construction each year.
