What I know about you | Éric Chacour wins the Club des irresistibles prize

The Montreal Library Club of Irresistibles has chosen to award its annual prize to the novel by Éric Chacour What I know about you.

Published last year by Alto, this first novel has since garnered a large number of awards and is notably among the finalists for the Prix des libraires du Québec, which will be awarded next May.

The 115 members of the jury highlighted that the five finalist novels of this 16e edition of the Irrésistibles prize were marked by testimonies and shocking revelations and allowed us to reflect on real facts.

When you listen to this song, by Lola Lafon (Stock), came in second position, followed by This is not a news item, by Philippe Besson (Julliard), The living room, by Oscar Lalo (Plon), and Live fast, by Brigitte Giraud (Flammarion).

Last year, the prize was awarded to Alain Farah’s novel A thousand secrets, a thousand dangers.

The Club des Irrésistibles des Bibliothèques de la Ville de Montréal was created in 2007 by Marie-Anne Poggi, in the form of a local reading club. It then extended its activities to the entire network of Libraries of the City of Montreal before becoming, in 2009, an online club which now has members in Quebec, but also in the rest of Canada, in France, in other European countries, North Africa and the United States.
