what happened to the stars of “Taxi”?

It was in 1998 that Taxi was released to the general public. Thus, we were able to discover a rather atypical duo with, on one side, Émilien, a clumsy young Marseille cop who no longer has peace of mind at all when it comes time to pass his driving license. He finds himself face to face with Daniel, a pizza delivery man in La Canebière, who has just obtained his taxi license. And the least we can say is that he’s an ace behind the wheel… who knows absolutely nothing about the highway code. He will have to help him catch thieves in exchange for the return of his license. The faces of these two acolytes have suddenly been associated with Frédéric Diefenthal and Samy Naceri. But what happened to the two actors?

Regarding Samy Naceri, his career took a real turn thanks to the saga Taxi. He then had the leading role in action films such as Wasps nest Where The Mental. In 2006, things came to fruition thanks to his role in Native thanks to whom he won the Best Actor award at the Cannes Film Festival. He had a somewhat calmer period from 2013 and will come back strong in 2019 thanks to his role in the series Olivia.

Next to the cinema, Samy Naceri has made a lot of headlines because of his numerous convictions whether for insults, drug use, or even for having broken the window of a vehicle during a brawl. The actor has received several prison sentences: six months for racist insults towards a police officer in 2006, three for having threatened a nightclub bouncer with a knife in 2007, ten for having disfigured with blows from ashtray a stylist the same year, six for having accidentally knocked down a policewoman in 2008. The following year, he was indicted for having attacked with a knife and injured in the neck a close friend of his ex.

For his part, Frédéric Diefenthal was much more discreet since he chained the roles while preserving his family life. Moreover, the actor refused to play in the fifth installment of Taxi without the presence of Samy Naceri on the program.
