The section “Behind our labels” is devoted, Tuesday, March 22, to the price of our milk. New brands, which can be found in supermarkets, offer better compensation for producers and breeders, who are suffering enormously. So what is the fair price for our breeders to get by?
In the milk department, they are more and more present. Products that we call fair, which promise better remuneration for producers. Similar products except on price. This is what challenged one of our viewers, Lionel, in Eure-et-Loir. One of the Lidl brand, is sold 15 euro cents less than that of the brand “C’est qui le patron”. To understand, head to Indre at Delphine Girouard. On his farm, there are 120 cows and guaranteed GMO-free milk, part of which ends up in the Lidl brand brick.
The breeder considers the purchase price of her milk to be satisfactory. How to explain the price difference on the shelves? These two milks are transported a few kilometers away, to the same dairy, where 350 million liters are packaged each year. For the manager of the dairy, the price difference is to be found on the brand side. The margin would be lower for the private label. The leader of “Who’s the boss” invokes transparency to justify himself. The two brands have just announced better remuneration for their producers, between 2 and 4 euro cents increase, in the coming weeks.
