Global warming: what efforts should we make to continue to fly?

This may be one of your resolutions for 2024: avoid flying because it contributes to global warming, but sometimes it’s difficult to do otherwise. We can therefore try to compensate for the CO2 emitted by these flights.

For vacation this winter, why not fly to Greece? It’s a dream, but it also has an impact on ecology. 4,222 kilometers of round trip flight, and 971 kilos of CO2 emitted per passenger, that’s a lot. So what needs to change on a daily basis to offset so many emissions? To emit less CO2, it all starts with the means of transport. You would have to take public transport for a whole year to compensate for this trip to Greece. It would also be necessary to follow a vegetarian diet for more than two years. And if you become vegan, the goal will be reached faster, in just 1 year and 3 months.

Choose teleworking

But if there is no question of touching your plate, you can also choose teleworking, which allows you to take the car or create energy in companies. So many changes and habits leave you with the choice to limit the impact of a plane trip. But be careful, offsetting our CO2 emissions would especially be good for our conscience.
