“Hi it’s Leo, what does it say?”
This Wednesday, May 15, “the situation is very serious” in New Caledonia, according to the High Commissioner of the Republic in this overseas territory. He predicts “dark hours” and “many deaths” if his call for calm is not heard. At 9:20 a.m., the authorities reported hundreds of injuries and at least two deaths, after a second night of riots.
The day after the attack on a prison van which left two dead in Eure, the inmate who escaped, as well as his accomplices, are still wanted. Many prisons are blocked by trade union organizations as a sign of “support” for the two officials killed and the three others injured.
And then, the national audiovisual institute is launching “INA hip-hop” this Wednesday on YouTube, TikTok and Snapchat. An offer made up of new archives and new formats for us to relive the emergence of the hip-hop movement in the 80s in France.
“What does it say?”, a podcast to listen to from Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. on franceinfo.fr, on the franceinfo WhatsApp channel, on TikTok or on all podcast platforms:
