A report on Niger national television spoke of weapons searches in the city center of Niger’s capital, Niamey. The images broadcast are wrongly presented as a French destabilization operation currently being prepared. The material seized is in fact European. This new false information has fueled recurring anti-French sentiment since the military coup of July 26, 2023.
