Friday, April 15, for the first time since the start of the trial for the November 13 attacks, Salah Abdeslam apologized to the victims. From the Paris Courthouse, journalist Sophie Neumayer clarifies what was said.

“The apologies and even the tears that Salah Abdeslam shed this afternoon at the hearing disturbed the victims with whom we spoke: they found him sincere”, reports journalist Sophie Neumayer, live from the Paris Courthouse, Friday, April 15. Others recall that he began to cry after a question from his lawyer about members of his family. “Some civil parties remain on the reserve and especially remember that he minimizes his role”adds the journalist.

Salah Abdeslam keeps repeating that he does not want to pay for the terrorists who died and that he did not kill anyone. He also refuses to condemn the Islamic State group. “The history of November 13 was written with the blood of the victims. It is their history and I am part of it, they are linked to me and I am linked to them”said Salah Abdeslam during his hearing.
