But the bill is more expensive than that. The 33,000 seats sold will have to be reimbursed for a certain number. Spectators will still want to watch the game against Stade Français, once it is rescheduled, but not sure that everyone has a seat. This match may not be played at the Stadium, but rather to Ernest-Wallon, because of the Téfécé tight schedule, in Ligue 2 football. The revenue for this gala match, expected by the club, would be partly lost.
An expensive stadium rental
Regarding the rental of the stadium, by the club to the metropolis, it will not be refunded. This is what the Metropolis tells us this Monday, December 27. Stade Toulousain does not communicate on any insurance, nor on the price of said rental. But, according to the Metropolis, the cost per match is the same for rugby as for football. An estimated cost of just under 50,000 euros, without the main parties confirming it.
To that, we must add the services of stewards, reception agents, for this match which was not played.
Hard to swallow for Stade Toulousain, which suffers from cases of coronavirus detected near the Stade Français. The club relies heavily on ticketing revenue in its economic model. Especially since the previous match, on December 19, against the Wasps, had already been postponed.
