A few weeks before Christmas, “Call of Duty” releases its annual episode, Electronic Arts gets its hands on the WRC rally and Tintin promises the great adventure to Hergé fans. At your controls!
This month of November is particularly busy with video game releases. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III sends its troops to fight a bad Russian, the WRC World Rally Championship sets off with new co-drivers and Like a Dragon Gaiden returns to the underbelly of Osaka. But it is the family games that are especially in the spotlight. With The Smurfs, Goldorak and Tintin, the French publisher Microids strikes a big blow. With Warioware: Move it! And Super Mario RPG Remake, Switch owners will not be left out. Finally Naruto X Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections wins the prize for the longest title of the month.
“The Smurfs 2: The Prisoner of the Green Stone”: go Blues!
The Smurfs 2: Prisoner of the Green Stone sends you to free the village of the little blue beings from the grip of the Green Stone. Thanks to Handy Smurf, you have access to the “SchtroumpfoMix”, a weapon full of surprises which replaces the Vaporisasmurfs from the previous episode. In addition to the small creatures created by Peyo, you will also find the infamous Gargamel as well as a host of monsters and bosses of all kinds. A family and general public game which allows you to rediscover the very special atmosphere of the Smurfs with the usual French voices of the cartoons.
“The Smurfs 2: Prisoner of the Green Stone” / Microids / Released November 2, 2023 on PS5 and PS4, Xbox One and Series, Switch and PC
“EA Sports WRC”: rallying under your skin
Electronic Arts continues to get its hands on sports licenses and is starting this new WRC Rally season with the Codemasters studio which made its name behind the wheel of the famous Dirt Rally. We can therefore assume that the sensations should be there. Between tarmac, dirt and snow you will have access to the 18 official circuits of the WRC world rally championship.
In career mode, you will be able to take the wheel of one of the ten cars racing this season but also around sixty emblematic vehicles of this motorsport. You can also compete in an official team or create one from scratch by building your own racing car.
“EA Sports WRC” / Codemasters / Released November 3 on PS5, Xbox Series, PC
“WarioWare: Move it!” : push the sofa
Two months before Christmas, Nintendo releases its special family party game. As indicated by his name, WarioWare: Move it! will make you move in all directions. 200 small games that are as simple as they are crazy use the Switch’s Joy Con controllers and play one after the other at full speed. The difficulty is to understand what is expected of you quickly rather than carrying out impossible actions.
You will have to take poses that are as grotesque as they are funny for those around you: imitating a chicken or a sumotori in the middle of the living room always has a little effect. A Fiesta mode will allow four participants to compete against each other in five different “multiplayer” modes.
“WarioWare: Move it!” / Nintendo / Released November 3 on Switch
“Tintin Reporter: Cigars of the Pharaoh”: Tintin in the land of video games
Written in the 1930s by Hergé, Pharaoh’s Cigars tells how the young reporter Tintin pursues a dangerous cartel of drug traffickers in Egypt but also in India and Arabia. The Spanish studio Pendulo Studios has taken on the difficult task of satisfying the millions of Tintin fans around the world. The graphic style is reminiscent of that used in Spielberg’s film, The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn. For the rest, there will be action, plane piloting, infiltration and of course investigations and puzzles to solve.
After a chaotic and not always successful journey in the video game world, this Tintin could be a landmark as the first images revealed make you want to immerse yourself in the beauty of its settings. “I would say even more” : we can’t wait to discover what he has in his stomach and we hope to rediscover the magic of our childhood readings.
“Tintin Reporter: The Cigars of the Pharaoh” / Microids / Released November 7 on PS5 and PS4, Xbox One and Series, PC
“Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name”: Japanese Phoenix
The saga of Like a Dragon Gaiden continues with this derivative episode which will tell us the story of Kazuma Kiryu, well known for having faked his death in order to protect his family. Forced to come out of retirement to help an orphanage threatened by a gang, he will have to return to the underbelly of Osaka and Yokohama to clean up in his own way. Those familiar with the license will find the slick graphics and street fights that made the series so successful. As usual, there will also be a whole bunch of little games and short-dressed hostesses to pass the time between two missions.

“Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (2023)”: the year of the zombie
No fall without a new one Call of Duty. Expected to be a big DLC for Modern Warfare 2it’s finally a new title which appears in stores this November. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 nonetheless recycles “multiplayer” cards from Modern Warfare 2 (that of 2009) particularly appreciated by virtual soldiers. There will be a new single-player campaign and a zombie mode which should please fans of the genre.
The undead are ever more numerous and now have an open world to express their hatred of human nature. You can fight them alone or in groups of three. The developers announce that you can be up to 24 soldiers trying to survive against the hordes across three zones of increasing difficulty. Another expected new feature in Warzone mode is the ability to transform into a railway worker and take control of a train.

“Goldorak: Feast of Wolves”: Fulguro-game!
It certainly won’t be the game of the year but it could make some nostalgic fifty-year-olds smile. Grendizer, the legendary robot, and his famous Fulguro-fist – star of the Japanese cartoon from the 70s – land for the first time in the world of video games. The opportunity to rediscover the equally legendary music that rocked the childhood of the first televores.
The game is a “beat’em up” and you will therefore have to run wild using, we imagine, the entire range of weapons installed on the giant robot. Story-wise and for those who remember, you will find Actarus in the first narrative arc of the animated series and it will obviously be about saving the earth.
“Grendizer: Feast of Wolves” / Microids / Released November 14 on PS5 and PS4, Xbox One and Series, PC
“Naruto X Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections”: ever more numerous

Ten new characters join the fray and special techniques have been improved for all ninjas. The fighting game also offers a simplified mode to be able to chain the best combos by pressing a single button.

“Super Mario RPG Remake”: Mario levels up
Mario is celebrating at the end of the year. After Super Mario Bros. Wonder in October, here comes a remake not very well known in France and for good reason, when it was released in 1996, the title was only released in Japan and North America. Super Mario RPG is therefore a total overhaul of Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. A role-playing game therefore, not very common in the Mario universe.
Here, we find the isometric view dear to classic Japanese tactical role-playing games with the addition of a shot synchronization system. If you press the button at the right time, your dodging becomes better and above all your strike can hit all opponents instead of just one. You will also be able to play and perform combo strikes with other characters like Bowser and Peach.
“Super Mario RPG Remake” / Nintendo / Released November 17 on Switch
“Persona 5 Tactica”: each person has their turn
This is the tactical role-playing game version of Persona 5. We find the heroes of the Japanese series in a more “cartoon” visual style. You will be treated to a new story with new allies and new enemies. The story takes place in an unknown kingdom where revolutionaries try to fight against tyrannical oppression.
The heroic faction of the Phantom Thieves will be faced with a curious bargain to save their skin. The battles are of course turn-based and will require you to think carefully about the placement of your heroes before launching into battle.
