According to a survey, 73% of French people recognize their concern about purchasing power. In each camp, as the early legislative elections approach, there is no shortage of promises.

The main parties are proposing a procession of proposed measures on purchasing power. Priority number 1: reduce the cost of energy. The president of the National Rally wants to reduce VAT on electricity from 20 to 5.5% and act at European level. For its part, the presidential majority promises to reduce the bill for businesses and individuals by 15% from next winter. The New Popular Front wants to remove the “Macron tax” on electricity.

Second priority: increasing salaries and reducing social security contributions. Prime Minister Gabriel Attal promised to expand the purchasing power bonus and raise the ceiling from 3,000 to 10,000 euros per year. To stand out, the left is banking on increasing the minimum wage to 1,600 euros net while the far right promises a 10% increase in salaries through exemptions from charges. Each camp targets a particular social class. The Republicans have also given some ideas with the reduction in corporate social security contributions and the increase in net salaries.
