The purchasing power bill was unveiled during the Council of Ministers on Thursday 7 July. The proposals are aimed at fighting inflation.
Thursday, July 7, the government presented its bill on purchasing power, the cost of which is estimated at 20 billion euros. Pensions will be increased by 4%, with feedback on July 1. If the index point for civil servants is to increase by 3.5%, the executive has not planned to raise salaries in the private sector. But the Macron bonus will be tripled and may reach 3,000 euros, or even 6,000 euros for companies that have set up a profit-sharing scheme. Regarding gas and electricity, the energy shield will be maintained until the end of the year.
To cope with the rise in the price of fuel, the government will abandon in the fall the discount of 18 centimes per liter of gasoline, in favor of a fuel allowance for workers. It will be put in place from October 1 and can reach 300 euros for low-income employees who go to work by car. Finally, the executive announced a food check of 100 euros per household, to which may be added 50 euros per child. This measure should concern 9 million families.
