Some companies have set up TTRs, Responsible Travel Times. Additional days off offered by employers if employees travel responsibly. A choice that requires more time, hence this kind of compensation.
Once she has crossed the threshold, Eloise already sees herself in the Highlands in the north of Scotland. It is 1,200 kilometers from Paris, but for this young girl who is aware of climate issues, taking a plane is out of the question. She leaves by train, a journey that will take her a whole night. A longer journey, for which she is entitled to an extra day off. A benefit that her company offers her if she gives up the plane. Because this train journey emits 22 times less greenhouse gases than a plane for an equivalent price.
This travel time, at the company’s expense, was born in the minds of a group of employees. During their break time, they imagined and requested two additional days of leave per year to be able to travel more virtuously. In January 2023, the TTR, Responsible Travel Time, was granted. A third of the company’s employees have already used this system.
