As pink October begins, journalist and doctor Damien Mascret is on the 12/13 set, Tuesday October 4, to take stock of breast cancer screening.
Like every year at the same time, October is pink. This is the collective’s 29th campaign to fight against breast cancer, the most common in France. It is also the leading cause of cancer death in women. The journalist and doctor Damien Mascret takes stock of the screening for this cancer on the set of 12/13, Tuesday, October 4. “Participation in organized screening rose above 50% in 2021, but it had dropped during the Covid. That means that one in two women still does not do it.”
Damien Mascret recommends getting tested as soon as possible: “However, the main advantage for a woman who participates in organized breast cancer screening is to benefit from an earlier diagnosis if she ever develops cancer. For the majority, this means a complete cure and for the others increased survival.”
