Firearm projectiles reached the facade of a popular restaurant in Westmount in Montreal overnight from Monday to Tuesday without causing any injuries.
The Montreal Police Service (SPVM) received a call around 3:20 a.m. in connection with an alarm system triggered in a business on Sainte-Catherine Street West, near Gladstone Avenue.
The police found several bullet holes on the front of the business, an Italian café.
A security perimeter was erected to protect the scene and the dog handler was called for a search.
Forensic identification technicians and investigators are in the direction of the scene to try to determine the circumstances surrounding this event which did not cause any injuries, reports Véronique Dubuc, spokesperson for the SPVM. The blocked portion of Sainte-Catherine Street West was reopened to traffic before rush hour.
