“We’re putting our finger in the gears a little more”feared Friday June 7 on France Inter Louis Aliot, mayor of Perpignan and vice-president of the National Rally, while Emmanuel Macron announced Thursday evening during his television interview the sending to Ukraine of Mirage 2000-5 fighter planes and a brigade of instructors. “I feel a lot of people around us who are worried because it’s a little more like entering into this war, which we obviously have to do everything we can to make it stop”explained Louis Alliot.

Mayor RN points out a paradox: “We can wonder about the reasons which push President Macron to be in this increasingly enterprising coalition, when France does not even have the means to ensure its own security most of the time.” He fears that France will weaken itself by sending fighter planes to Ukraine: “Who will pay, first of all? And then, what equipment will we replace once these Mirages have left for Ukraine?”, he asks. Louis Aliot does not believe that sending Western weapons of war will change the course of the war. It is “especially diplomatically we must put pressure”he says.
