Marco Prince is the singer of the group FFF (Fédération Française de Fonck), a fusion rock group that has become essential over time, with titles that have become emblematic like Free for Fever in 1993 which defines it perfectly. Since 2000 and despite this reputation as a unifying group, FFF has not released an album. But here it is, 23 years later Virginhe returns with I Scream and is preparing to go on tour again in March 2024.

Marco Prince: We needed 23 years to regain this momentum and there was no question of returning to the stage if we didn’t have things to say and these flashes of insight to put in contact with the public.

It was very quick in terms of writing, meaning once you got together it was so obvious!

Yes, it’s pretty crazy. A little over a year ago, there was an alignment of the planets. I don’t know, something telluric happened where we felt that the planet was going to need us because we were going to have difficult times, so we reformed. We’re a bit like the Avengers, we come to bring back some juice.

Didn’t you miss it? This group energy, this union which gives strength, which has given you strength.

You know, it’s quite strange, sometimes we spend our time protecting ourselves from our family without realizing that the big family gatherings where everyone talks and where no one says anything to each other, but where we all understand well that we love each other, well we miss them. So, when we do one again, we say to ourselves: “ But we’re stupid, why don’t we see each other more?“When we got back together, we remembered these moments of music, these moments of laughter, these moments of madness, these moments of crazy travel and indeed, it was born again.

How was FFF born?

This is absolutely false. But it was funny. We let people say a lot of things about FFF because we told ourselves that everything that was said about the group probably had a certain percentage of truth. But it was Nicolas Baby (Niktus) and I who met in a theater school, at Patrice Chéreau’s, where he was a resident and where I tried to enter through the door or through the window. And at that time, it was a period when I wanted to be an actor, I dreamed of that. It was my first venture into the artistic. And with Nicolas, we started making music, I don’t know how it happened, but we realized that if we waited for the casting directors to come get us, we were going to be miserable as hell. stones. And then the magic of FFF and the meeting with the other two made the group born.

From the moment the band was born and you signed, it was really meteoric. How did you experience this moment when you go from shadow to light?

The common denominator we had was that we were quite surrounded by our families and that’s what allowed us not to freak out and not go crazy.

Everything seemed to happen naturally to us. There was a kind of magic around the cradle and that’s what allowed success not to go to our heads too much. That means we wanted to put ” The best album in the world“, but we were told that it was not possible to put on an album. So we decided for ” The best FFF album” !

So, it is the face of a very pretty woman, who is a friend of ours, who shouts her joy, but who also shouts her fear of the direction in which the world is heading today and who shouts the decision to be part of of tomorrow in a beautiful way.
