Wellness getaway at Club Med Charlevoix

This text is part of the special book Plaisirs

Nestled between the river and the mountains, the new Club Med de Charlevoix offers a luxurious haven of peace that will satisfy both couples and solo travelers looking for respite.

The all-inclusive hotel franchise now has a foothold on the slopes of the Massif de Charlevoix. Thanks to generous windows, the river and the mountains are an integral part of the decor. The hotel is packed with such a wide range of services that it is easy to never leave. Each floor has its own theme: well-being, sports and gastronomy.

Le Massif in the backyard

If the desire for the outdoors is felt, the trails and trails of the Massif de Charlevoix are directly connected to the Club. This means that when the snow melts, the hiking trails are just steps from the rooms.

The Village hiking school is opening its doors this spring. It will be possible to participate in a variety of thematic guided hikes every day to observe the local fauna and flora, learn to survive in nature and discover seasonal edible treasures. Seasoned runners and novices can also indulge in trail running.

Fine local cuisine

Between yoga and hiking, the buffet served morning, noon and evening delights the taste buds. Salmon carpaccio, vegetarian poké bowl, gourmet burgers… And the busy days end with an aperitif at the Meteor, the complex’s bar and performance hall.

At dinner time, you are spoiled for choice between the main restaurant Le Marché, the family restaurant Terroir & Co or Le Chalet. From farm to table, nearly 80% of the ingredients cooked come from Canada, while 30% are grown less than 100 kilometers from the Village. Among the suppliers are the Migneron Family, the Basque Farm, as well as the Biological Meats of Charlevoix.

At the Chalet table, a seasonal and local menu is served. This spring, for example, we opt for rainbow trout, baked chicken with caramelized rhubarb or beef cheek. These main courses are complemented by a selection of cheeses and charcuterie, a salmon tartare and a sweet Quebec finish: a chômeur pudding. As for the wine list, it is intended to be short and not very diversified; it would benefit from refinement.

The evening ends with a drink in front of a high-calibre show, some of which are offered by the establishment’s employees. Musicians, dancers and circus artists lend themselves to different styles, and they invite holidaymakers to dance with them until the wee hours of the morning.
