The Clock Tower
Located in the pedestrian center of Old Auxerre, the clock tower is a building of fifteenth centuryremnant of a Gallo-Roman tower rebuilt over the centuries.

The clock that was installed in 1483 has the particularity of having two distinct hands: one for the sun and the other for the moon.

The facade of the Place du Maréchal Leclerc and its medallions
The portraits of the medallions on the facade are the work of Auguste Michelon (1827-1872). He sculpted in the medallions the portraits of famous Auxerrois on the facade of the Palace of the Counts.

There are thus the portraits of the monk Héric (841-876), of Jehan Regnier (1393-1469) poet and bailiff of Auxerre of Jacques Amyot (1513-1593), writer and bishop, of Jean-Baptiste de la Curne of Sainte-Pallaye (1697-1781), academician, Abbé Lebeuf (1687-1760), historian, Germain Soufflot (1713-1780), architect, Philibert Roux (1780-1854), surgeon and portrait of Pierre de Courtenay
Later, the medallion representing the portrait of Joseph Fourier will be made by the sculptor Edgar Delvaux (1908-1970).
