Welcome to NDG—Westmount, Ms. Gainey | The duty

Ms Anna Gainey,

Since June 20, you have been my new MP. I welcome you to our riding of Notre-Dame-de-Grâce–Westmount. Beyond our different political opinions, I dare to believe and hope that you will be able to carry my claims and represent me well. However, reading a very recent piece of news, indicating your refusal to name the decline of French in Quebec, leaves me perplexed. Thus, like your predecessor, Mr. Garneau, you seem incapable of admitting well-documented facts that confirm this decline of our national language. In 20 years of living in my neighborhood of NDG, I can regularly witness this decline.

I am disappointed to read that you are avoiding answering this question, whereas I took time with you, under an umbrella in the spring, to explain to you the sometimes difficult situation for Francophones to live in the center-west of Montreal. . From “Hello! », 20 years ago, it became « Bonjour-Hi! and, sometimes, “Hi!” period, with difficulty in getting served in French in some businesses in my neighborhood. Who knows, maybe we can resume this discussion? The door is open, I can’t wait to meet you again.
