It is a model that is beginning to prove its worth: to make young visitors to a crèche live together with residents of an nursing home. For a morning or an afternoon, this often happens in Tourcoing, in the North.

They are neighbors and spend their days a few meters from each other. Twice a week, toddlers and seniors get together. That day is set up a creative workshop. “It reminds usthe good years of the past. Life goes by so fast. I’m 94, it looks like my kids were born yesterday. So we’re getting younger, indicates a resident of the Ehpad located in Tourcoing, in the North. The importance of the age gap does not matter too much for the tables with four hands. “I really enjoy being there, it’s a moment of relaxation. And then, it’s so nice to see these children”explain another resident.

“I don’t often see my children”

“It comes out a bit of the EHPAD, I don’t often see my children, my grandchildren, and my great-grandchildren”adds another resident of the Ehpad. Moments of sharing that began 12 years ago, and that nobody wants to see stop today.
