Carol Wainio at 1700 La Poste
We place ourselves in front of the paintings of the Canadian artist Carol Wainio as in front of clouds to which we find shapes, images. There are hidden characters from fables or our imagination, we no longer really know because we let ourselves be lulled in front of his works, so gently. Artist to discover and place too, if you are not a regular at this gallery which presents itself as a small museum, in a former bank in Griffintown.
Until January 24, 2024

The king dances at the Denise-Pelletier Theater
Molière, Lully and Louis XIV are resurrected these days on the stage of the Théâtre Denise-Pelletier in the theatrical adaptation of the film The king dances (itself based on a novel). Directed by Michel-Maxime Legault, the play offers great performances from the actors, notably those of Jean-François Nadeau and Simon Landry-Désy. “Extraordinary” and “hilarious”, believes colleague Luc Boulanger. A show that will please both young and old audiences.
Until December 9. at the Denise-Pelletier Theater

At the movie theater : Ru
“Faithful to the spirit of Kim Thúy, who describes his memories with modesty and poetry, Charles-Olivier Michaud brings the past and the present together in such a way as to magically bring out beauty in the most terrible moments,” writes our journalist Manon Dumais.
At the movie theater : Napoleon
“In fact, despite its undeniable aesthetic, artistic and technical qualities, the Napoleon by Ridley Scott, experienced in large-scale films such as Gladiator, The kingdom of heaven And The last duelappears like a tedious history lesson where the great characters take three short turns and then leave, like Barras (Tahar Rahim) and Wellington (Rupert Everett),” writes our journalist Manon Dumais.
