The 28e edition of Culture Days offers free programming from one end of the province to the other. Among the plethora of activities on the menu in Montreal, the Saint-Michel Festival of Intercultural Flavors allows epicureans to discover the products of local artisans and merchants (until Saturday). In Longueuil, Lumifest returns for an 8e year with screenings, musical performances and street food (until Saturday). Hearing and dancing literature

The International Literature Festival ends its 30th yeare Saturday edition. Readings and meetings with writers take place in different locations across the metropolis. We remember reading texts inspired by the novel Where I hideby Caroline Dawson, by Ines Talbi and Christian Rangel, at La livrerie, an evening hosted by Catherine Perrin, in tribute to the author who died last May. To close the festival, a “literary ball” hosted by Simon Boulerice at La Chapelle Scènes contemporains. Five authors must read a “common fable” inspired by their favorite songs and make the spectators dance.

A rocking Sunday

Émile Bilodeau, Les Shirley and La Banda Loca will be on 2e Monktoberfest, Sunday. The free shows will take place on Monk Boulevard, opposite the Paradoxe theater, in the South-West. Another musical offering: a free show by Keith Kouna and Ken Pavel, Sunday, at 3 p.m., at the corner of Sainte-Catherine and Bennett streets, in Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve. The duo will perform, in acoustic version, songs from the punk-rock group Les Goules, a legendary group of the independent scene which prides itself on playing music “to haunt the rotten and cheer up the sick”.

Montreal Weekend Galleries

Until Sunday, the Association of Contemporary Art Galleries is organizing the Galeries Weekend Montréal. As part of this 4e edition, 27 establishments open their doors to the Montreal public. In addition to around forty exhibitions featuring more than 100 artists, the gallery owners have planned special, free programming in their exhibition spaces, including discussions with artists, guided tours, openings and workshops. creation. Four suggested routes allow you to navigate from one gallery to another, on foot.
