The Kraken beat the Islanders 3-0

Philipp Grubauer stopped 19 shots and recorded the first shutout in Seattle Kraken history, as they defeated the New York Islanders 3-0 on Wednesday night.

Grubauer, who signed a six-year contract with the Kraken at the end of July, earned his first shutout since May 12.

Jared McCann scored his 19and goal of the campaign, a top for the Kraken, while Vince Dunn and Mason Appleton hit the target once each.

McCann and Appleton all added assists for the Seattle squad, which had lost its last two outings.

Semyon Varlamov stopped 28 pucks for the Islanders, who have lost three of their last four games. They were shut out at home for the fourth time this season.

It was the last game for each team before the NHL All-Star Game, which will be held this weekend.
