Jordan Kyrou scores twice in Blues win

Jordan Kyrou scored twice in the St. Louis Blues’ 5-2 win over the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday.

Robert Thomas scored a goal and an assist for the Blues.

The latter signed a second victory in a row, after two losses in a row.

Zack Bolduc and Torey Krug were the other scorers for the winners.

Brayden Schenn had two assists and Joel Hofer made 18 saves.

The Blues are 8-1-1 in their last 10 home games against the Hawks.

Philipp Kurashev and Landon Slaggert fought back for the Blackhawks.

Slaggert scored his first NHL goal late in the third period.

He converted a breakaway after grabbing a pass from Ryan Donato.

Originally from South Bend, Indiana, not far from Chicago, Slaggert was a third-round pick of the Hawks in 2020.

Zach Hyman and Leon Draisaitl both scored a goal and an assist in a 5-1 win for the Edmonton Oilers against the Vegas Golden Knights on Wednesday night.

Cody Ceci, Mattias Ekholm and Dylan Holloway also scored for the Oilers, while Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Ryan McLeod each had two assists.

The Oilers have won their last three games and reached the 100-point plateau three consecutive seasons for the second time in their history.

Captain Connor McDavid was not on the Oilers roster. The striker was also absent during his team’s training on Tuesday.

Keegan Kolesar scored the only goal for the Golden Knights, who have lost three games in a row.

The Oilers opened the scoring midway through the first period, when Ceci scored his fourth goal of the season.

Ekholm found the back of the net for his 11e goal of the season, 5:38 into the second period.

The Oilers took a 4-0 lead in the third period, with the team enjoying a two-man power play. Draisaitl scored his 41e net of the season using a slap shot.

Oilers coach Kris Knoblauch said McDavid missed Tuesday’s practice because of lower-body ailments, but also needed a break.

He is at the top of the league with 99 assists.

Since McDavid arrived in the NHL in 2015-16, the Oilers are 20-24-9 in his absence.
