Jordan Binnington stopped 40 shots and the St. Louis Blues beat the Los Angeles Kings 3-1 on Wednesday.

Alexey Toropchenko, Jake Neighbors and Brandon Saad scored for the Blues, who began a four-game homestand.

Adrian Kempe scored for the Kings and Cam Talbot made 27 saves.

The Blues remain in the fight for the last additional playoff spot in the West.

They are six points behind the Vegas Golden Knights, who have a game in hand.

Taking part in a 700e game in the National League, Kevin Hayes was complicit in Saad’s goal midway through the third period.

Predators beat Jets, 4-2

Gustav Nyquist had a goal and an assist on Wednesday, helping the Nashville Predators win 4-2 at the expense of the Winnipeg Jets.

Jason Zucker, Filip Forsberg and Kiefer Sherwood also scored for the Predators, who have picked up at least one point in 13 straight games (11-0-2).

Roman Josi played in the Predators’ first two goals.

He reached the plateau of 50 assists for the second time in his career.

Juuse Saros made 28 saves, being thwarted by Alex Iafallo and Mason Appleton.

Connor Hellebuyck stopped 34 shots for the Jets.

The club will finish a three-game trip at home Friday night against the Anaheim Ducks.

The Jets’ Mark Scheifele was left out at the last minute, not feeling well enough to play.
