Wedding season picks up again after two years of Covid

It’s complete until the end of the year. I start to fill 2023Angélique Ribot, patroness of the counters of Jade, an event organization company in Levroux, announces from the outset. This young entrepreneur embarked on this activity in the middle of the pandemic. “I had this desire for a long time and seeing everyone pushing back the parties, I told myself that they would have to take place at one time or another… winning bet!“Angélique therefore resigned from the company where she was employed to create her own company. Since then, she has been organizing weddings with a vengeance.

Same observation of a good recovery for Catherine Béchade, at the head of C.Organisé. An event planner for 14 years, she’s busy every weekend right now “with sometimes 3 weddings on the same day…“. A breath of fresh air after two years”very very hot… Fortunately we had the right to state aid“.

Fewer “forced” guests

Catherine and Angélique paint the portrait of the bride and groom in 2022: a couple who are often in their forties, who want a wedding in a smaller committee80 guests on average“, without obligation. “We no longer impose ourselves guests just by convention. You don’t have to invite a cousin you never see anymore. It’s really fun marriage, without the hassle” observes Catherine. For her part, Angélique notes a fashion for “country weddings, secular ceremonies, with just relatives and a few friends. People want very simple. Many have married civilly in recent years but have not been able to celebrate because of covid. There they want a party to mark the occasion“.

This is exactly what happened to Catherine in early June: “I have a couple who finally got married after postponing the date 3 times and changing location three times because the number of guests changed. We had to scratch all the glasses printed with the wedding dates by hand to erase the wrong date…

Another trend spotted by Angélique, weddings organized faster than before.I have several couples who have called me to ask me to organize weddings in 15 days… it’s much more rushed than before. In the past, we were on a year and a half to two years of preparation.

Before the pandemic, an average of 700 weddings were celebrated per year in Indre. Only 424 unions were registered in the town halls of the department in 2020, the year of the two confinements.
