Who says Father’s Day also says barbecue dinner cooked by dad, but the weather could perhaps play spoilsport during the weekend.
Those who prefer to celebrate on Saturday will have to resign themselves to doing so indoors, while Sunday celebrations could take place outside, but under a few clouds. At least that’s what Environment Canada’s forecasts suggest.
A low pressure system that has developed on the coast of Maine should therefore bring precipitation on Saturday to southeastern Quebec. Thus, everything should clean up the atmosphere, especially in Greater Montreal, which will see its quality return to a better level on Saturday.
As for Sunday, the weather will remain cool and cloudy, but overall the rain should be more timid.
“It won’t be a nice day, but the weather will not affect outdoor activities,” said Jean-Philippe Bégin, meteorologist at Environment Canada. The latter specified that he would not be surprised to see a few drops of rain fall.
No rain to help wildfires
The southeast of the province should receive rain, but the scenario is not the same for the regions affected by the forest fires.
In addition, with a good weather system that will settle in the province, the weather conditions will not be in favor of the firefighters who are working hard to control the flames.
“The weather will not be an ally for the next week,” concluded Mr. Bégin.
