Weather of the day: weather cocktail under spring temperatures

Quebecers can take comfort in the spring temperatures, when a low pressure system, admittedly on a smaller scale, arrives on Wednesday with a weather cocktail to affect several sectors of the province.

Rain-laden clouds will therefore eclipse the sun during the day, especially in southern and central Quebec, where most areas will receive a few showers of 5 to 10 mm with light snow, according to Environment Canada.

In Greater Montreal and the Outaouais, intermittent rain will begin at midday with a risk of freezing rain in areas north of the St. Lawrence River, such as the Laurentians and Lanaudière.

The same scenario is to be expected for the Estrie, Beauce and Quebec sectors with intermittent rain mixed with light snow in the afternoon and a risk of freezing rain in places, including the Saguenay.

On the other hand, thinnings thanks to alternating sun and clouds will appear in eastern Quebec, even if intermittent rain mixed with snow will wet many sectors of the North Shore and Bas-Saint-Laurent.

The mercury will be abnormally on the rise throughout the province, reaching 7 degrees in Montreal and Sherbrooke, or even 9 degrees in Gatineau, while the month of February is known for its cold peaks.
